It seems to me that there is a proliferation, all of a sudden, of “Men Against Rape” or “Men Against Violence Against Women” web sites. I am suspecting it is all as a result of guilt instigated by the horrendous rape in India.
Events like this fluff up this kind of reaction and for a while righteous men indignantly demand an end to such violence.
In the end it all goes away and women are left, once more, with scarred bodies, wounded souls. . .or worse.
I wish I knew what to do to end this evil but I dont; aside that is from speaking out when people perpetuate the ethos of a violent society.
Talk though is cheap, solid action is the only currency we should be dealing in. So what is to be done? Can anyone suggest a first step what can we humble Bloggers, Tweeters & Face-bookers etc do to stem and turn the tide of violence against women? There has to be something other than another pious website or candlelight vigil outside a complacent politicians office or home.
