It is getting closer to that time of year when i must rant on the subject of Canadian ignorance. It is sad that I should have to do this when Canadians, as a rule, are not so ignorant.
Easter, let that word sink in for a moment ponder. Now consider this, it is a four day public holiday. Now, before you utter that tired response “Only Government and schoolchildren get the Monday off.” check your damn calendar. It will clearly state that Monday is a public holiday for, among others, Canadians. Let us list but a few of those other Easter revelers that enjoy Monday as a holiday: France, Germany, Holland, England, Rome, Wales, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, and Greece.
True there are some countries dont have Easter Monday as a Holiday…but they do have Holy Thursday (The day before Good Friday.) even Britain celebrates Maundy Thursday once every two years; this as well as Easter Monday.
Schmuckish Canadians prefer to be dictated to by business hence the truncated easter holiday. Take note on how Ontario and Quebec share the holiday. When one province is closed the other is open. Corporate greed is the master and Canadians are too cowardly to stand up to the men with cash registers.
I am not religious I am retired so it does not effect me one way or another what day is a holiday. But it does piss me off that business can can balls around with our freedoms and rights for the sake of a buck or two.
Stop bleating about immigration, Trudeau or how stupid Trump supporters are look to our own back yard. If Easter has been tampered with what else have the evil pricks got away with?
