Why is it that when we want to express a statistic we always say 1 in 10 Canadians will die of say. . .Sneezing (For sneezing read which ever disease scares you the most.) this year. So, accompanied by the destiny symphony, urges the dire warnings of heath so and so.
No one else will be affected by this ravaging disease just Canadians.
If you really want to spread a dire warning surely it would sound more drastic if Health Yoyo said 10 million people will die from sneezing this year. They could even use a dramatic voice accompanied by wailing and gnashing of teeth in the background.
My point is why be nation specific on this issue? Are Canadians too stupid to understand the gravity of death and disease? I dont think so.
Just one other thing while I am in a bad mood. . .the larger the population the greater the number of people that will be affected by a given scenario ergo it is pointless to compare todays results with 30 or more years ago. Unrelated I know but it is a stats ploy I find really irritating. Thank you for reading and I hope I am funnier later on.
