It occurred to me that it might be a good idea to have a Wicks Award for our world leaders. I mean who would not want such an accolade attached to their resume? These great people are the brunt of our jokes day in and day out. we should, now and then, honour them for there is nothing these folk can do that is right. . .in our eyes they are doomed to failure at every turn. They are lampooned by merciless caricatures enhancing all their physical defects. Time then to embrace with a smile those tireless few that live only to serve their people.
So I began my research digging and probing leaving no stone unturned. From country to country I delved deep into the psyche of those we would rally to in times of duress and great need.
Setting all bias aside I pried open all nooks and crannies in every world niche; for a Churchill, a Boudicca, a Kennedy a Trudeau or even an Atilla the Hun.
Sweating and worn to a nub I emerged and delivered unto an awaiting world my final answer on who would be the bestest then lead us, finally, into the twenty First Century; and be the first recipient of the soon to be coveted Wicks award.
Needless to say I could only do it on a part time basis. yes yes I know just that pesky little detail about not being a world leader yet. But I will be once I get this award who could deny me as I hoist the Wicks trophy. . .
