I have finally worked it out; I know the secret of why long weekends are not long at all.
A weekend can only ever be a weekend; a holiday does not extend the weekend it simply makes the beginning of a week. . .different.
By calling it a long weekend we believe that the weekend is going to take longer to expire; add on the holiday the untenable expectations of Nirvana and deep depression closes all around.
As you all know a weekend zips by faster than any other days of the week ergo we suddenly find ourselves in a Monday internally wrecked that the “Long” weekend is over.
But; it is all illusion…the Matrix will never let us see the sunshine again or hear the thud of squirrels dropping from trees.
